Malaysia empowers PMKS entrepreneurs through grants and training

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (PMKS) in Malaysia are receiving increased support through various government initiatives and grants. Under the supervision of SME Corporation Malaysia, official PMKS status provides entrepreneurs with access to financial assistance, government grants, training programs, and financing to enhance business credibility and market reach.

In Pahang, the state government has allocated RM5 million through the Usahawan Makmur Program to empower local entrepreneurs. Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail recently oversaw the distribution of the Usahawan Makmur Grant and the SIRIM Technopreneur Enterprise Program (STEP). These initiatives aim to help businesses improve product quality, branding, packaging, and design to increase competitiveness.

For the first series of these programs, 101 PMKS entrepreneurs received a total of RM416,000 in grants, while 42 participants in the STEP program received RM500,000 to assist in expanding production capacity and market access.
