Malaysia expands halal cooperation with six nations

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced at the inauguration of the International Halal Trade Expo (PIHEX) and the Bumiputera Entrepreneur Assembly in Penang that several foreign governments have expressed interest in collaborating with Malaysia on halal industry development. The countries mentioned – Vietnam, China, Brazil, South Africa, Peru and Ethiopia – are seeking Malaysian partnership for halal certification and recognition.

Anwar highlighted Malaysia’s strong track record in halal certification, noting that the nation’s system is increasingly viewed as a global benchmark. He affirmed that continued cooperation will strengthen the halal ecosystem worldwide. The event was attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil and other business leaders.
