Malaysia ‘H 1’ vehicle plate sets record with RM10.77 million bid
The Malaysian transport ministry has announced that the ‘H 1’ vehicle registration plate fetched a record-breaking bid of RM10,777,777. This amount significantly surpasses the previous record of RM1.75 million set in 2024.
Introduced in conjunction with Malaysia Day, the ‘H’ series was the last single-letter registration series planned by the Road Transport Department (JPJ). The bidding process, conducted via the JPJeBid system from September 16 to 20, generated a total of RM91.2 million in revenue and RM1.94 million in service fees. A total of 34,664 people participated in the bidding, with 8,223 registration numbers successfully claimed.
Other high-value bids included ‘H 9’ at RM4,969,999, ‘H 3’ at RM4,209,777, and ‘H 5’ at RM4,007,777. Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the proceeds from this series will be channeled into various programs and initiatives, including road safety projects managed by the ministry and the JPJ.
