Overview

The Malaysian Road Transport Department (JPJ) launched a bidding process for the ‘H’ series of special vehicle registration numbers to celebrate Malaysia Day. The letter ‘H’ was selected to represent ‘Harmoni’ (Harmony). This series, featuring numbers from H 1 to H 9999, was designated by Director-General Datuk Aedy Fadly Ramli as the final single-letter series the department would offer.

Following the bidding period held via the JPJeBid application from September 16 to 20, the ‘H 1’ plate set a new record with a bid of RM10,777,777, significantly exceeding the previous 2024 record of RM1.75 million. Other notable high-value bids included ‘H 9’, ‘H 3’, and ‘H 5’.

The entire bidding process involved 34,664 participants and resulted in 8,223 successful claims, generating RM91.2 million in revenue and RM1.94 million in service fees. Transport Minister Anthony Loke stated that the proceeds will be used for various initiatives, including road safety projects managed by the ministry and the JPJ.
