Malaysia International Halal Showcase 2026 draws global buyers and launches Women in Export platform

The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) is urging Malaysian companies to register for the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) at the 22nd Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS), scheduled for 23‑26 September 2026 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur. The programme aims to generate RM2 billion in export sales, targeting about 300 international buyers—including 50 premium buyers—from 55 economies, building on the RM3.63 billion sales recorded by INSP MIHAS 2025 and over RM20.62 billion total export sales since the programme’s inception.

At the same event, MATRADE will launch the Women in Export (WiEX) platform, featuring a dedicated pavilion, the INSP component, a forum and an awards ceremony. The initiative seeks to empower women‑led halal enterprises, providing networking, capacity‑building and market‑access opportunities. MATRADE’s chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, highlighted the goal of achieving RM80 billion in halal exports by 2030, while CEO Abu Bakar Yusof underscored women’s growing role as innovators and job creators in the sector.
