The Department of Social Welfare (Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat) announced that people with disabilities (OKU) may attend the National Day (Hari Kebangsaan) 2026 events as audience members. The invitation applies to the main ceremony on 31 August 2026 at Dataran Istana Kehakiman in Putrajaya, with a separate gathering on 29 August.

Up to 200 seats are available. Participants must be 18 years or older (or accompanied if younger), be in good health, and agree to the use of photographs or video for official documentation. Those requiring assistance are encouraged to bring a companion.

The programme runs from 5:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on the day of the celebration, and attendees must comply with the stated conditions to take part.
