Malaysia launches National Month flag-flying campaigns

Malaysia has launched various initiatives to celebrate National Month and promote patriotism through the flying of the national flag, the Jalur Gemilang.

In Kota Tinggi, the launch of the National Month and the Jalur Gemilang Flag Campaign for 2026 was held at Astaka Budaya. Johor Lama State Assemblyman Norlizah Noh emphasized that the flag is a symbol of the beloved homeland and a symbol of struggle that all citizens should appreciate and display to show national pride.

In Kuala Lumpur, the PENTARAMA Merdeka@HOHO 2026 program, an annual initiative by the Department of Information Malaysia (JAPEN), saw thousands of flags distributed to the public. The event utilized a KL Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour to visit iconic locations. JAPEN Director-General Erwin Khairul Ahmad noted that the enthusiastic response demonstrates the enduring patriotic spirit of the Malaysian people.
