Malaysia National Day 2026 preparations feature Johor Military Force debut

Preparations for Malaysia's 2026 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya are over 70% complete. Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil announced that the upcoming parade will feature several unique elements, including the debut appearance of 100 members of the Johor Military Force (JMF).

In a departure from previous years, military and police assets will be displayed statically at Dataran Floria and the New Millennium Monument, allowing the public to view and interact with the equipment closely. The event will also include a ‘Human Graphics’ performance involving 1,500 students from 36 schools. To facilitate attendees, MRT services will operate 24 hours a day on August 30 and 31.

Across the country, local communities are also marking the occasion. In Jasin, Melaka, the Jasin Municipal Council (MPJ) has installed 1,000 Jalur Gemilang flags at strategic locations to foster patriotism. Similarly, residents in Felda Seberang Tayor, Terengganu, have been working together to decorate their residential areas with national flags and creative replicas.
