Malaysia police rescue kidnapping victim in Shah Alam, arrest six

Police in Malaysia rescued a kidnapping victim in Shah Alam, Selangor, within 48 hours of receiving a report from the victim’s wife. The operation, led by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department and the Selangor CID, recovered the victim from a residential unit in the I‑City area at around 1 am. Six suspects, five men and one woman aged 30‑46, were arrested and remanded for ten days under the Kidnapping Act 1961. Authorities also seized drugs, mobile phones and several vehicles believed to have been used by the kidnappers. The case is being investigated under the Kidnapping Act 1961 and the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, with police continuing to identify additional participants and motives behind the RM7 million ransom demand.
