Malaysia KPDN seizes over RM70,000 in non-compliant squishy toys

The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has seized 5,801 units of squishy toys valued at RM70,428.70 during nationwide inspections conducted between October 1 and October 14.

Enforcement Director-General Datuk Azman Adam stated that the seizures resulted from 15 enforcement actions following inspections of 1,845 premises, including manufacturers, importers, wholesalers, and retailers. The products were confiscated for failing to display the mandatory Safety Standard Compliance Mark (MC).

KPDN emphasized its commitment to enforcing the Consumer Protection Act 1999 and will continue inspections to ensure only safety-compliant products reach the market. Parents are advised to check for safety compliance labels before purchasing toys for children.
