Malaysian authorities detain three Myanmar nationals in Perak
The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (Maritim Malaysia) detained three Myanmar nationals in the waters of Perak for suspected fisheries and immigration violations. The incident occurred near Pulau Pasir Hitam, Kuala Kurau, when authorities intercepted a fiber boat lacking a valid registration number.
Investigations revealed that the crew was allegedly using unauthorized fishing equipment, specifically ‘bubu naga’. Additionally, the individuals are suspected of operating without valid identification documents or work permits. The case is being investigated under the Fisheries Act 1985 and the Immigration Act 1959/63.
