Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim urges unity and media ethics to safeguard stability

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim called on Malaysians to preserve national unity and reject race‑based politics, stressing that the country's progress depends on cooperation among all ethnic groups. Speaking at a dinner for the Five‑Generation Organisation (PLG) Malaysia, he said harmony and shared purpose are essential for development.

Anwar also urged the media to uphold journalistic ethics and deliver accurate information, arguing that responsible reporting is vital for democratic stability. At the HAWANA 2026 summit in Butterworth, he linked media integrity to public perception and noted Malaysia’s ongoing strategic energy partnership with Russia.

His remarks reflect an effort to reinforce social cohesion and trustworthy information flow as foundations for the nation’s future.
