The Malaysian National Registration Department (JPN) has issued 14,000 MyPR permanent resident identity cards as of September 2026. This initiative is part of an effort by the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) to strengthen the delivery of self-documentation services.

Home Affairs Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail stated that the ministry aims to ensure the issuance of identity documents and MyPR services is conducted more efficiently, systematically, and with integrity. Key areas of focus include transaction efficiency, document security, ease of access, and customer service to improve the responsiveness and quality of public service delivery.
