Malaysia's new Party Waasan Negara announced ahead of Johor and Negeri Sembilan elections

Parisan Nasional leader Ahmad Zakith Hamidi said any new Malay‑based political party would be welcomed if it fosters unity and does not deepen divisions. He stressed that such parties must support national, Islamic and Malay community agendas.

Former Bersatu deputy leader Hamza Jainiudin announced the formation of the new party "Party Waasan Negara" and said its first annual meeting will be held next week. The party plans to contest the upcoming state elections.

KeADILan (PKR) confirmed it will stand candidates in at least 20 constituencies in Johor and 16 in Negeri Sembilan. Seat‑sharing talks within the Pakatan Harapan coalition have been completed, with other coalition members also fielding candidates. The Johor state election is scheduled for 11 July and the Negeri Sembilan election for 1 August, and the new Party Waasan Negara will join the contest in both states.
