Erdoğan convenes Cabinet in Ahlat for Malazgirt anniversary

Turkey is holding large-scale commemorations for the 955th anniversary of the Battle of Malazgirt in the Muş and Bitlis regions. Events include torchlight processions, flag marches, and cultural displays, such as performances by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality Mehteran Band and demonstrations by Mounted Gendarmerie units.

In conjunction with these celebrations, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is convening a Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Complex in Ahlat, Bitlis. This marks the third time the Cabinet has met in Ahlat. During the visit, President Erdoğan is expected to meet with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli and visit the Ahlat Seljuk Square Cemetery.

The Cabinet's primary agenda focuses on the 'Terror-Free Turkey' initiative, specifically evaluating the progress of the disarmament and dissolution process of terrorist organizations following recent legislative changes. Discussions are also expected to cover regional security, strengthening domestic unity, economic stability, inflation, and international tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the Strait of Hormuz.
