Maldives resorts highlight festive seasons and marine conservation

Resorts in the Maldives are highlighting seasonal festivities and marine conservation efforts. The Ozen Collection has announced a curated calendar of events for the 2026–2027 festive season at OZEN LIFE MAADHOO and OZEN RESERVE BOLIFUSHI. Activities include tree lighting ceremonies, New Year’s Eve galas, and family-oriented programs such as gingerbread house-making and underwater tree planting.

Separately, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives is observing its third annual Manta Month this September. The initiative focuses on manta ray encounters and marine education. This conservation focus follows research published in PLOS ONE indicating the significant economic impact of manta ray tourism in the Maldives. The study estimated that manta ray tourism generated approximately US$227.3 million in 2021, contributing to the national GDP and providing substantial lifetime value to the local economy through reef manta ray populations.
