Mali and Senegal graduate new officers in multinational military ceremonies

On 10 July 2026 the École d’État-Major et de Commandement (EEMC) in Koulikoro, Mali, held a solemn ceremony for its 38th promotion. Thirty‑eight newly trained officers received their insignia and diplomas, representing ten African nations including Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Senegal, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Togo and Chad. The ceremony was chaired by General‑Division Sidiki Samake and featured senior military leaders; Major Tapa Diallo of Mali was named major of the class.

Later that day in Koutal, Kaolack, Senegal, the École nationale des sous‑officiers d’active (ENSOA) concluded training for its 44th promotion. One‑hundred‑fifty‑six new sergeants, including fourteen women, graduated after two years of intensive instruction and specialized parachute and commando courses. The cohort also included trainees from Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea‑Bissau, Mali, Niger, Chad and Togo. The event was presided over by Minister of the Armed Forces Yankhoba Diémé and highlighted the schools’ role in fostering regional military integration.
