Mali launches 1,500‑person security recruitment and equips police with 37 new motorcycles
The Malian Ministry of Security and Civil Protection announced on 16 July 2026 a recruitment contest for 1,500 positions – 1,000 for the National Police and 500 for the Civil Protection Corps – aimed at strengthening the country’s security forces. The contest, signed by Minister Daoud Aly Mohammedine, will follow detailed eligibility and application procedures to be released in forthcoming notices.
In a separate ceremony, President Brice Clotaire Oligui presented 37 motorcycles to the National Gendarmerie and Police. The motorbikes are part of the first phase of a broader modernisation programme intended to improve response times, urban patrols, and security at public gatherings, especially in peripheral districts.
Both measures are presented as steps to enhance Mali’s operational capacity, improve public safety, and increase the proximity of security forces to the population.
