Mali offers up to 2 billion FCFA bounty for information on seven terror suspects

Mali's government announced a programme of financial rewards for information leading to the arrest or neutralisation of seven individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist attacks. The bounties range from 500 million to 2 billion West African CFA francs. The highest reward of 2 billion FCFA is offered for tips on Iyad Ag Ghaly (alias Abou Al‑Fadel). Rewards of 1.5 billion FCFA are pledged for information on Hamadoun Hassan Sangaré (also known as Amadou Kouffa) and Abdoulaye Mamadou Bakaye Diallo (alias Jouleybib de Nampala). Additional amounts of 1 billion FCFA and 500 million FCFA are set for Alghabass Ag Intalla, Sedan Ag Hita (multiple aliases), Bilal Ag Acherif and Abderrahmane Al‑Batna Al‑Jazairi. The measure, detailed in a communiqué signed by Minister of Security and Civil Protection General Daoud Aly Mohammedine, is intended to strengthen the fight against terrorism and encourage public cooperation, with guarantees of anonymity for informants.
