Malian Armed Forces conduct major operations in Dioura and surrounding regions

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have conducted significant military operations as part of Operation Dougoukoloko to secure national territory. In the Dioura sector, after more than a week of intense combat, FAMa successfully evacuated two companies that had been holding the military garrison. This air-land operation utilized transport helicopters to rotate troops following heavy engagement with armed groups.

The Malian General Staff reported that targeted strikes against residual enemy positions near the garrison and the city's periphery inflicted heavy human and material losses on attackers. The identified assailants included elements of the FLA, JNIM, and foreign fighters. While the military celebrated the bravery of the troops, the operation also resulted in casualties among Malian forces.

Simultaneously, FAMa expanded its offensive across other fronts. Intelligence-led strikes targeted terrorist concentrations southeast of Djenné and bases northwest of Sévaré, destroying war materiel and logistics. Additionally, terrorist logistics depots containing fuel in Ber were located and destroyed. Search and rescue operations are ongoing to recover hostages.
