Malian Armed Forces strike logistics site and launch Special Forces recruitment
The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have conducted a strike against an armed group logistics site in the Modiakoy sector of the Timbuktu region. According to military reports, the operation on September 2 targeted a group attempting to retrieve ammunition and tires. The site was destroyed during the intervention.
This action is part of Operation Dougoukoloko, a nationwide initiative launched in April 2025 to strengthen state control, combat terrorist groups and criminal networks, and ensure the free movement of people.
In a separate strategic move to modernize defense capabilities, the General Staff of the Armed Forces, under Division General Elisée Jean Dao, has announced a specialized recruitment drive for Special Forces units. The recruitment is open to male candidates who have already participated in recent physical and written examinations for the Inter-Arms Military School (EMIA) and the Non-Commissioned Officers School (ESO).
