Malian Armed Forces strike terrorist groups in Kidal and Dandougou

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) have conducted a series of military operations against terrorist groups in the Kidal and Dandougou regions as part of ‘Operation Dougoukoloko’.

On September 26, 2026, strikes near Abeïbara, approximately 45 kilometers northeast of Kidal, resulted in the neutralization of at least 50 militants, including several leaders, and the destruction of war materiel. This operation followed intelligence-led efforts to locate concentration points of armed groups.

In separate actions on September 21 and 24, FAMa targeted positions east of Kidal and north of Dandougou. The operation north of Dandougou targeted positions containing between 200 and 300 combatants and significant military equipment. Military officials stated that these interventions rely on precise intelligence, situational assessment, and targeted strikes to maintain pressure on armed groups across the territory.
