Malian Armed Forces strike terrorist positions in Kidal and Dandougou

The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa), supported by partners, have conducted targeted strikes against terrorist group positions in the Kidal and Dandougou sectors as part of Operation Dougoukoloko.

On September 21, 2026, intelligence exploitation allowed forces to locate two retreat zones east of Kidal containing war materiel and logistics equipment. These positions were subsequently targeted with precision strikes.

On September 24, 2026, reconnaissance operations identified several fortified positions north of the village of Dandougou. These sites reportedly housed between 200 and 300 combatants along with significant military and logistical assets. The military reported that these positions were successfully neutralized, resulting in numerous terrorists being killed and equipment destroyed.

Surveillance and reconnaissance operations are ongoing in these sectors to assess the full impact of the strikes and to neutralize any remaining threats.
