Malian Armed Forces strike terrorist targets in Talhandak and Ménaka
As part of Operation Dougoukoloko, the Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) conducted targeted military operations on October 20 and 21, 2026, in the Talhandak and Ménaka regions.
On October 20, FAMa forces identified a terrorist regrouping point approximately 3 kilometers northwest of Talhandak. After monitoring two suspected motorcyclists and observing armed individuals concealed in vegetation, the military launched a precise strike against the position.
On October 21, surveillance operations in the Ménaka sector led to the discovery of a vehicle used by armed terrorist groups, hidden about 37 kilometers southeast of the city. Following confirmation of the target, the vehicle was destroyed in a targeted intervention.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces stated that these actions are part of a broader national security strategy. Surveillance and reconnaissance efforts will continue in these sectors to assess the impact of the strikes and neutralize any remaining threats.
