Mallikarjun Kharge urges Indian government to aid Nepal flood victims

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah requesting urgent humanitarian assistance for Nepal following devastating floods. Media reports indicate that the floods have caused over 500 deaths, with approximately 1,000 people still missing.

Kharge expressed deep concern regarding the safety of Indian nationals and people of Indian origin stranded in various parts of Nepal. Citing Ministry of External Affairs information, he noted that about 320 Indian citizens remain out of contact. He urged the government to expedite rescue and evacuation efforts to ensure their safe return to India.

In his correspondence, Kharge emphasized the deep relationship between India and Nepal, calling for India to stand firmly with its neighbor. He suggested that the Indian government coordinate with the Nepalese government to provide comprehensive relief, including the potential deployment of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to affected areas.
