Overview

Following devastating floods in Nepal, which were triggered by a glacier burst in Tibet on August 26, the humanitarian situation has escalated significantly. India has also deployed 54 specialized personnel, comprising 30 tunnel rescue experts, 19 forensic experts, and a five-member medical team, to work alongside Nepalese authorities. Regarding the status of Indian citizens, 275 Indian nationals remain unaccounted for, while 1,907 Indian nationals have safely crossed into Nepal from China. India has indicated it will continue to provide aid, including Bailey bridges and additional forensic kits, as requested by the Nepalese government.
