Mallorca attracts massive crowds for total solar eclipse

Thousands of people gathered across Mallorca to witness a total solar eclipse, turning the island into a massive observation point. Major locations included Santa Ponça, Playa de Palma, Alcúdia, and Formentor.

In Santa Ponça, the crowds were so dense that local businesses faced supply shortages, with some shops running out of beverages. The influx of people required police presence to manage the crowds on the beaches and in adjacent pine groves.

The eclipse reached totality around 20:32, lasting approximately one and a half minutes. During this period, daylight vanished, temperatures dropped, and stars became visible in the twilight sky. The event drew a diverse mix of tourists, families, and astronomy enthusiasts.
