Mallorca restaurant sector faces record low September start

The restaurant sector in Mallorca is experiencing an unexpectedly poor start to September, marking one of the worst beginnings for the month on record. Juan Miguel Ferrer, president of Restauración Mallorca CAEB, noted that the decline follows a weak final two weeks of August. The primary concern for the industry is not a lack of visitors, but a decrease in the capacity and willingness of tourists to spend money once they arrive at their destination. This shift challenges the traditional September trend, which typically attracts high-spending visitors seeking to avoid summer crowds.
