MAM returns to Ibirapuera Park after two-year renovation
The Museum of Modern Art (MAM) has officially returned to its headquarters in Ibirapuera Park following a two-year renovation. The project was funded by the São Paulo City Hall, which covered 40% of the costs, with the remainder provided by sponsors, friends, and advisors.
The renovated facility features a new auditorium, a redesigned educational space, and a renovated shop. During its two-year absence from the headquarters, the institution maintained activity through the ‘MAM em Movimento’ program, hosting 13 exhibitions across various locations in and around São Paulo.
Additionally, officials noted the recent recovery by the Civil Police of eight Henri Matisse engravings that had been stolen from the Mário de Andrade Library in December 2025. The artworks were located in São Bernardo do Campo.
