São Paulo Museum of Modern Art reopening

The Museum of Modern Art (MAM) in São Paulo has officially returned to its headquarters in Ibirapuera Park following a two-year renovation. The project was funded by the São Paulo City Hall, which covered 40% of the costs, alongside contributions from sponsors and advisors. The renovated facility includes a new auditorium, a redesigned educational space, and a renovated shop.

During its absence from the headquarters, the institution maintained activity through the ‘MAM em Movimento’ program, which hosted 13 exhibitions across various locations. As part of the reopening, the museum is launching the Petí restaurant on 12 September. The venue, which holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction, aims to “integrate gastronomy and cultural programming” and will be accessible to both museum visitors and park guests independently of exhibition tickets.

The reopening coincides with the 39th edition of the Panorama of Brazilian Art, the institution’s flagship contemporary art exhibition.
