Mamelodi Sundowns monitor injuries to Williams and Mokoena

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso is awaiting medical results for midfielder Teboho Mokoena and expects goalkeeper Ronwen Williams to recover quickly ahead of the club’s CAF Champions League return leg.

Following a goalless draw against Angolan side Wiliete SC in the first leg of the second preliminary round, Sundowns face selection uncertainty. Mokoena was forced off in the 40th minute due to a ligament injury, and the club is awaiting further examinations to determine the extent of the damage. Williams, who missed the first leg due to a minor training knock, is expected to be available for the upcoming match in Pretoria.

Cardoso noted that the experience of both players is vital for sustaining a squad that includes many young players, particularly as the team manages the pressure of defending their championship status.
