Mamoru Oshii returns to Armored Trooper Votoms with new anime films

The anime franchise Armored Trooper Votoms is returning with two new films titled ‘Soukou Kihei Votoms Haiiro no Hexe’ (Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe). Directed by Mamoru Oshii, the project is produced by Sunrise with support from Production I.G.

New promotional material has revealed the voice cast and character designs. Miyuki Sawashiro will voice the protagonist Ash Vamps, a feared pilot known as ‘The Grey Witch,’ while Mabuki Andou will play Maki Stauffenberg, an officer tasked with investigating Ash’s past. The supporting cast includes prominent voice actors such as Yuki Kaji, Yūichi Nakamura, Tomokazu Sugita, and Daisuke Ono.

The production features character designs by Kazuchika Kise, with animation designs by Shingo Ogiso, Takashi Kojima, and Tetsuya Nishio. Original mechanical designs are provided by Kunio Ōkawara.
