Cabrera d'Anoia: Family lived with man's corpse for years

Police in Cabrera d'Anoia, Barcelona, have discovered the body of a man approximately 75 years old inside a home where his wife and adult daughter had been living with the corpse for an extended period.

The Mossos d'Esquadra were alerted by neighbors in the Can Formiga urbanization who noticed a lack of movement and accumulated debris around the property. Upon entering, officers found the residence in a state of unsanitary conditions. The two women, who reportedly had not left the house since the COVID-19 pandemic, were providing medical and social services assistance after the discovery.

Preliminary investigations suggest the man died of natural causes approximately two years ago, as there were no immediate signs of violence. An autopsy in Barcelona will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death and the precise timeline of the man's passing to establish how long the family lived with the body.
