Man in Gia Lai returns 500 million VND accidental bank transfer

A man in Gia Lai province, Vietnam, proactively reported an accidental bank transfer of 500 million VND to the local police.

On August 26, 2026, Nguyen Anh Tuấn, born in 1998, discovered that 500 million VND had been mistakenly transferred into his Agribank account from an account belonging to Nguyen Van Hai. Upon realizing the funds were not his, Tuấn reported the incident to the Chu Se Commune Police to facilitate the return of the money.

Following verification by the police, the authorities guided Tuấn through the necessary legal procedures to return the full amount to Hai. Hai expressed his gratitude to both the local police and Tuấn for the swift and honest handling of the error.
