Man missing after swimming accident in Völkermarkt Reservoir

A search operation is underway in the Völkermarkt Reservoir in Carinthia after a 43-year-old man went missing while swimming. The incident occurred late in the evening near Kohldorf.

According to reports, the man was attempting to swim from a fishing pier to a cabin boat located approximately 50 meters away, which held his 32-year-old partner and a fisherman. During the attempt, both the man and his partner went under the water. The 64-year-old fisherman managed to reach and secure the woman, pulling her into the boat, but was unable to locate the man.

The woman was subsequently admitted to the Klagenfurt Clinic. Emergency responders launched an extensive search involving multiple fire departments, seven boats, three drones, and a helicopter, but the man has not yet been found.
