Man shot dead on rural road near Abasolo, Guanajuato

A 38‑year‑old driver was killed on a dirt road linking the community of San Isidro to the municipality of Abasolo, Guanajuato. According to the State Attorney General's Office, the victim was traveling in a 2007 Ford Fiesta with Guanajuato plates when two men on a motorcycle approached the vehicle and opened fire at close range, striking the driver multiple times, including a head wound.

Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived but found the man already without vital signs. The scene contained three spent cartridges and the vehicle. Police, the National Guard, the Army and state security forces secured the area while forensic investigators processed the site. The body was taken to the Guanajuato Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy, and the homicide investigation remains open.

Authorities are working to identify the assailants and determine a motive.
