Brazilian municipalities advance 2027 budget frameworks

In Manaus, the municipal Law of Budgetary Guidelines (LDO) for 2027 progressed to a public hearing on 15 June. Representatives from the city's Finance, Planning and IT Secretariat and several council members discussed the draft, which sets spending priorities for health, education, infrastructure, social assistance and other public policies. The proposal will move to the chamber’s plenary for approval before it is sent to Mayor Renato Junior for sanction.

In the Federal District, the Secretariat of Economy held a public consultation on 16 June to present the 2027 Annual Budget Law (PLOA) draft and collect citizen input until 30 June. The proposed budget totals R$ 74.97 billion, with R$ 45.45 billion from district revenues and R$ 29.52 billion from the Federal District Constitutional Fund, earmarked mainly for public safety, health and education. The draft will be forwarded to the Legislative Chamber for legislative review later in the year.
