Manaus implements digital cemetery systems and expands professional training

The city of Manaus has launched a digital platform to modernize its public cemeteries, starting with the Nossa Senhora Aparecida cemetery. The system replaces paper archives with an integrated database containing records for over 248,000 individuals. This technology reduces document issuance times from weeks to minutes and utilizes geolocation to help visitors and staff locate specific gravesites.

In conjunction with these administrative updates, municipal workers have intensified cleaning and maintenance efforts across ten cemeteries to prepare for the All Souls Day holiday.

Additionally, the Amazonas government and the Manaus City Hall are expanding professional development opportunities. The state has reported over 175,000 vocational training vacancies through Cetam, including new school units in Manacapuru, Careiro, and Manaus. Locally, the city is offering free courses in basic metrology and people management for entrepreneurs to bolster the regional workforce.
