CIEAM organizes logistics seminar to address Amazonas drought impacts

The Center of Industries of the State of Amazonas (CIEAM) is organizing a seminar titled ‘Solutions for the 2026 Drought: Logistic and Customs Operations’ to address the impact of receding river levels on regional production chains.

Scheduled for October 1 at SENAI, the event will bring together private port terminal operators, Manaus airport management, and representatives from the Brazilian Federal Revenue. Discussions will focus on immediate operational bottlenecks, contingency plans, and the expansion of air transport capacity to mitigate the water crisis.

CIEAM executive president Lúcio Flávio Morais de Oliveira emphasized that technical integration between port operators, alternative transport modes, and customs authorities is essential to ensure the Manaus Industrial Pole remains supplied and competitive despite the recurring drought challenges.
