Manaus teacher stabbed by student during private lesson

A 23-year-old private tutor, Vinícius Figueiredo, was stabbed multiple times by a student during a tutoring session in Manaus, Brazil. The attack occurred on Wednesday evening at a private educational institution in the Nossa Senhora das Graças neighborhood.

Security footage captured the moment the student approached the teacher from behind while he was writing on a chalkboard. The victim was struck approximately nine times, sustaining wounds to his neck, arms, and legs. After the initial assault, the student reportedly pursued the teacher as he attempted to flee the room.

Following the attack, Figueiredo was treated by emergency medical services and transferred to a private hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition and is currently under medical observation.

The suspect, a teenager aged 14 or 15, has been apprehended by the Civil Police and placed in a socio-educational detention unit. The case is being investigated by the Specialized Police Station for the Investigation of Infractions (Deaai) as an act analogous to attempted murder. Authorities are still working to determine the exact motive behind the attack.
