Manaus water service gradually restored after scheduled maintenance

Águas de Manaus completed a scheduled maintenance program at the Ponta do Ismael water production complex on the night of 5 May. The utility re‑energized the two treatment stations and began a phased restoration of water pressure, with central neighborhoods receiving supply first and more distant or higher‑altitude districts expected to be fully served within 48 hours.

More than 150 workers carried out over 30 preventive interventions, including valve replacements, electromechanical inspections and equipment adjustments, to ready the system for the upcoming Amazonian summer peak. The company’s operations centre monitors the network in real time, deploys tankers where needed and urges residents to use stored water responsibly until normal service resumes in all areas.
