Manavgat Municipality to Supply 86% of Its Power from New Solar Plant

Manavgat Municipality in Turkey is constructing a solar power plant on 27 dönüm of land to meet about 86% of the local government's electricity consumption. Deputy Mayor Av. Mehmet Çiçek visited the site, reviewing progress and confirming that the project will allow municipal service buildings and parks to run largely on renewable energy. The initiative aims to cut the municipality’s energy costs and use public funds more efficiently while promoting environmental sustainability. Çiçek said, "We are happy to launch our eco‑friendly GES project and hope it will be completed as soon as possible. It will cover roughly 86% of our electricity needs. I thank all the staff involved."

The plant is part of a broader effort by the municipality to shift toward clean, renewable energy sources and reduce reliance on conventional power.
