Manchester United secures £20 million annual Betway training‑kit sponsorship
Manchester United announced a multi‑year sponsorship agreement with gambling company Betway covering the club’s training kits for both the men’s and women’s teams. The deal is reported to be worth £20 million per season, making it the largest standalone training‑kit sponsorship in world football.
The partnership will also place Betway branding around Old Trafford on match days. It begins with the 2026‑27 season, the first Premier League campaign in which gambling firms are prohibited from appearing on the front of shirts. While front‑of‑shirt logos are banned, sponsors may still be displayed on sleeves, training apparel and stadium advertising, a loophole highlighted by campaigners.
United’s chief business officer Marc Armstrong said the scale of the partnership reflects the club’s growth strategy and global fanbase. The deal follows a season without a training‑kit sponsor after the previous contract with blockchain platform Tezos ended, and runs alongside United’s existing £60 million‑a‑season front‑of‑shirt deal with electronics brand Snapdragon.
