Manfred Meisel murder case: New tips emerge after 30 years

The investigation into the 1997 triple murder of Bierkönig founder Manfred Meisel, his eight-year-old son Patrick, and animal keeper Claudia Leisten has seen a significant development. Following a broadcast of the crime program ‘Aktenzeichen XY… International’, the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor's Office reported receiving more than 50 new tips.

Authorities indicate that these leads may stem from shifts in witness loyalties, with individuals now showing a willingness to provide information. The murders took place at the Meisel family finca in S’Aranjassa, Mallorca, and were characterized by the perpetrators acting in a professional and targeted manner.

The Frankfurt prosecutor's office has been conducting investigations in parallel with Spanish authorities since the incident occurred nearly 30 years ago. Potential motives being explored include rivalries regarding Meisel's bird breeding or connections to organized crime.
