Manggarai affordable housing project breaks ground in Jakarta

The Indonesian Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), and Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) have broken ground on an affordable vertical housing project in the Manggarai area of Jakarta. Utilizing a Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept, the project is situated on approximately 2.1 hectares of KAI-owned land near the Manggarai Station hub.

The development is planned to consist of eight residential towers. The initial phase in Block G will include three towers providing 1,276 units, while Block F will feature five towers with 2,508 units, totaling 3,784 residential units. The buildings will stand 24 floors high, offering studio, type 36, and type 45 housing options. The location provides direct access to various public transport modes, including the KRL Commuter Line, Airport Rail, MRT, LRT, and TransJakarta.

To support low-income residents, BTN is offering a subsidized mortgage (KPR) scheme featuring a 40-year tenor and a fixed 6% interest rate until the loan is fully repaid. This collaboration aims to provide decent, affordable housing in a strategic urban location with integrated transportation access.
