Manica Province, Mozambique Road Crash Kills Three, Injures 29

A road collision in Manica province, central Mozambique, resulted in at least three fatalities and 29 injured persons, including two children who were treated in a pediatric emergency unit. The deaths occurred at the scene, according to Jone Paulo, spokesperson for the Provincial Hospital of Chimoio.

The accident adds to Mozambique’s high road‑traffic mortality, prompting the government to accelerate a review of the national traffic code. Officials announced plans to introduce a point‑based driver‑licence system and to install video‑surveillance cameras on major roads to strengthen enforcement and reduce violations.
