Manipur government reopens National Highways and resumes bus services

The Manipur government has announced the immediate reopening of National Highways for the free movement of people from all communities. The decision, made during Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh's visit to Kangpokpi district, also includes the resumption of the Imphal-Dimapur bus service.

The move aims to restore stability and ease the hardships caused by prolonged road disruptions and blockades, which have severely impacted trade, healthcare, and essential supplies. Chief Minister Singh noted that the decision was driven by the difficulties faced by citizens, such as increased travel costs due to disrupted connectivity.

Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen emphasized that the National Highway is national property and should remain accessible to everyone. Authorities stated that security arrangements will be implemented to ensure passenger safety during the resumption of services.
