Manipur: Kuki woman killed and two missing in Kamjong ambush
A Kuki-Zo woman, identified as Hatneikim Haokip, was killed and her husband injured during a suspected militant ambush in Manipur’s Kamjong district. The incident occurred on a Thursday evening between Phaikoh and Mulvailup while the victims were traveling on two motorcycles to purchase essential commodities.
Two other civilians, D. Paokhothang Haokip and Boishi Haokip, remain missing following the attack. Security personnel and local villagers have launched search operations to locate the missing individuals.
The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has condemned the attack, accusing the National Socialist Council of Nagalim-Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) of responsibility. KIM officials criticized the state and Central governments for a deterioration in law and order, demanding immediate security operations to apprehend those responsible and protect vulnerable civilians.
