Biga and Karabiga infrastructure projects advance in Turkey
Local authorities in the Biga and Karabiga regions of Çanakkale are advancing several strategic infrastructure and economic development projects. The Biga Chamber of Commerce and Industry has initiated consultations regarding the Biga Yacht Specialization Free Zone, the Karabiga Container Port, and the expansion of the Biga Organized Industrial Zone (OSB). Key priorities for the OSB include infrastructure works, a vocational school, and utility connections.
In Karabiga, the 18-kilometer highway connecting Biga and Karabiga has been included in the 2027 investment program for hot asphalt renovation following meetings between Karabiga Mayor Ahmet Elbi, MP Ayhan Gider, and Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu. Discussions also addressed accelerating the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for the Karabiga New Port Project.
In Manisa, regional infrastructure improvements are also underway. In Demirci, Mayor Besim Dutlulu announced plans for 12 kilometers of hot asphalt and the potential arrival of natural gas, noting that previous restrictions on gas works would be lifted. Additionally, 30 kilometers of road connecting seven neighborhoods in Kula have been completed with cold asphalt, with hot asphalt works expected to follow.
