Manisa dismantles 16 organized crime groups in six‑month crackdown

During January‑June 2026, the Manisa Governorate coordinated police and gendarmerie operations that broke up 16 organized‑crime networks. The raids seized assets worth roughly 258 million Turkish lira and resulted in the arrest of hundreds of suspects across multiple crime areas.

Security forces conducted 58 terror‑related operations, detaining 144 people and imprisoning 53. In organised‑crime actions, 105 suspects were taken into custody, with 60 sentenced to prison. Anti‑smuggling efforts involved 227 operations and 196 arrests, while drug‑related missions comprised 760 raids, 3,083 detainees and 665 convictions, seizing 76 kg of narcotics and over 662,000 pills. Additional seizures included 1,365 illegal weapons, 17,690 L of fuel, 2,624 L of illicit alcohol, 6,909 kg of tobacco and 19.8 million cigarette packs. Cyber‑crime teams identified 1,049 illicit accounts and arrested 117 individuals. Traffic checks inspected 1.894 million vehicles, leading to 288,282 enforcement actions. Illegal‑migration operations captured 17 organizers and 853 migrants.

Overall public‑order crime fell compared with the previous year, with a detection rate of 99.6 %.
